IKENGA FLOORS UZODIMMA AGAIN, AS THE CHIEF MAGISTRATE OBEYS A COURT ORDER BARRING FURTHER HEARING ON THE MATTER, AND STRIKES OUT CHINASA NWANERI’S FRIVOLOUS SUIT AS LAWYERS DESCRIBE THE SUIT AS FRIVOLOUS AND A BACKHAND ATTEMPT TO COVER UP OMUMA MAGIC.

While Governor Uzodimma and his sadistic team have not hidden their happiness over the invidious and apparently politically motivated attack on the residence of the opposition spokesman, Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, the young political activist and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for Ideato Federal Constituency has continued to show that the law is an effective weapon against despots, as he recorded yet another major victory at the Magistrate Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The suit at the Magistrate Court was obviously Governor Uzodimma’s only window to save his face after a series of embarrassing defeats at the hands of the Akokwa-born political activist. However, the eminent Magistrate has refused to allow himself to be stampeded into giving any form of legitimacy to the thuggish adventures of half-educated and tactless power drunkards, even though there were allegations that bags of money were set ready with huge promises placed on the table for the Magistrate to turn the law on its head. This could be why Governor Uzodimma’s SA on ‘Special Duties’, Chinasa Nwaneri was boasting to anyone who cares to listen that he was certain of jailing Ikenga Ugochinyere.

Hon. Magistrate Umah Isah Dodo, while delivering a short ruling earlier today agreed with the submission of Ikenga Ugochinyere’s legal team that the clear implication of an earlier order by an FCT High Court on the matter is that he should stay proceedings on the matter. He also informed the counsels to both parties that his court lacked the jurisdiction to hear the matter. He, therefore, struck off the matter.

The Magistrate’s earlier threat to order the arrest of Ikenga Ugochinyere was the loudest bragging point for Governor Uzodimma and his tactless team of opportunistic electoral mavericks.

Efforts by J. C. Nwosu, counsel to Mr Nwaneri to misdirect the Court that it can continue the hearing were opposed by Ikenga’s lawyers who succeeded in convincing the Court on the lawful thing to do which is to obey the pendency of the matter in the High Court and stop its own hearing.

Reacting to the ruling, eminent lawyers from across Nigeria commended the honourable Magistrate for not allowing himself to be used by anti-democratic agents to gag the activist or divert attention from the expositions regarding the alleged involvement of Governor Uzodimma and his agents in efforts to manipulate the Voters Register in Imo State, especially, in Omuma, where the governor, in collusion with some people, allegedly imported names and photographs of dead, non-existent and untraceable individuals to inflate the Imo State Voters Register with an aim to subvert the wills of Imo people during the 2023 general elections and subsequent elections in the State. The lawyers praised Ikenga Ugochinyere for being a courageous pro-democracy and good governance campaigner who has earned his feathers in the Nigerian political system through a dint of hard work and creativity accentuated by courage.
