ROR – He Has Quenched Your Thirst! Saturday, June 6th 2020, By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD DSc DD

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed (John 6:55).

There’re those who are always crying to God to “quench their thirst” and fill them afresh. They misunderstand the words of Jesus in John 7:37, where He said, “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” This doesn’t mean that when you’re “thirsty” for God, you go to Jesus.

Also, don’t be confused by what the Spirit penned through Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:4, saying, “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” In the Old Testament, they drank water from the rock, and that rock was Christ. Today, you don’t need to “go” to Jesus anymore to get that drink; you’re in Him, and He’s in you! He said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38).

What did He mean by “rivers of living water”? The 39th verse explains it. It says, “(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified).” This water is the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13 NIV says, “For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” In other words, when you received the Holy Spirit, you got the drink of the Spirit. He’s quenched your thirst!

We don’t cry to God to fill us when we think we’re thirsty; we get ourselves filled with the Spirit; and the Word shows us how: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs (songs of the spirits; singing in the spirit), singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:18-19). This is the way to stay perpetually filled and drenched in the Holy Ghost! It’s by ministering to yourself in the spirit—singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Hallelujah!

Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of the precious Holy Spirit in and with whom I’m filled continually. I’m forever refreshed through the Spirit, for out of my belly flow gushers of living water, to give life and sustenance to everything about me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Further Study:

John 4:14
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

1 Corinthians 14:14-15
“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

Ephesians 5:18-19 AMPC
“And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.
19 Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord,”

Confession For Today June 6th, 2020

I’m a new creation; I am superior to Satan and the forces of darkness. I am an offspring of divinity and a product of Christ’s resurrection! I’m a partaker of the divine nature and I dwell in Zion; therefore, I don’t get sick. I was born for health, success and the glory of God! Hallelujah!

The life of God in me destroys sickness, disease and infirmity; therefore, I’m uninfectable. I am not ordinary; I refuse to accommodate any form of weakness in my body. In the Name of Jesus, I refuse arthritis, diabetes, cancer, tumor, paralysis, kidney failure, heart failure, lung failure in any place in my body. I declare that I live, rule and reign above them all. I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless, I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me because the life that I now live in the body, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. He’s my Lord, my King and my all. Christ is my life, in Him I live and move and have my being, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

The Word of God is active in me and His presence is evident in my life. I declare that I experience the miraculous in my body everyday by the power of God’s Spirit. I’m superior to Satan; he has no power over me! I affirm that I am living the supernatural life every day; surrounded with God’s favour as with a shield. According as His divine power, God has given unto me all things that pertain unto life and godliness. I belong to Christ, and thus am Abraham’s seed, and an heir according to the promise. There is no end to my treasures. The works of my hands are blessed. I’m a carrier and distributor of God’s blessings.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me a life of glory, dominion, and excellence; I walk in the reality of this truth. You’ve made me impregnable to sickness, disease, poverty, and anything that hurts. Therefore, I walk conscious of my divine nature today and always, reigning over satan and his cohorts of hell. I declare that I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith. I have right standing with God; thus, I live by faith, and not by sensory perception. God’s life and nature are at work in me. I’ve passed from death to life; I’ve been brought into the ageless zone. I’ve received the gift of righteousness, and I am reigning in life.

Through the Gospel, life and immortality have been brought to light in my spirit. I live the transcendent life in Christ now. I am in Christ; I’ve passed from death to life, from mortality into immortality, and from age into agelessness. I am growing, but not aging. My strength is renewed day by day because of eternal life that’s at work in me. I am aglow in the Spirit; the glorious impact and blessings of the life of Christ are evident in my life. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and I have the life of God in me. My spirit, soul, and body are vitalized through and through by the power and effect of righteousness and the fullness of the God-life that I’ve received through the Gospel. I am walking in the reality of my divine heritage in Christ, conscious of His grace and awesome presence in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Hallelujah!

#AffirmationTrain 6TH JUNE. I affirm that God is alive in me!

He is my ability and competence. Through Him, all things are possible to me. I can do all things because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I know who I am, what I have, and all that I can do in Christ. My potentials are limitless; I am innovative, excellent, and sound! Hallelujah! God’s Word is my foundation; therefore, I have a great life. I have a struggle-free and stress-free life. My life is full of bliss! I have a great day, every day, irrespective of what the situation may be. I am in charge, and I have the upper hand in life.

As I respond to and use the Word in simple matters of life, I win. God’s Word is my basis and foundation for a great life. I am solidly built on the rock; I am immovable. I withstand and surmount the harsh pressures of life; I am impregnable to the crises of life. My mind is stationed on the Word, and I’ve received insight and understanding of the principles for a successful life. I earnestly desire the Word, and by it, I grow into the fullness of my salvation. I am forever victorious because the Holy Spirit has given me an advantage in all things. Glory to God. Hallelujah!
